I'm in the process of finishing up our Thanksgiving pumpkin place cards and favors. The pumpkins are made with tissue paper and filled with chocolate leaves and turkeys which were wrapped in beautiful foil colors. I'm using three different autumnal colors of tissue paper for all of our guests. (Colors: pumpkin, apricot & mustard, ordered here.)
I found the idea for the pumpkins here, but created mine with a few changes. First, I increased the diameter of my tissue paper circles to 13" wide. I found this much easier to work with. Also, I could not get the floral tape to stick to the closed end at all, so I tied mine with jute twine and wrapped the remaining ends around the stem and secured it with a dab of glue. I had some velvet leaves on hand and added that as an embellishment. I hope my little niece and nephew will be surprised when they discover the hidden treasure inside.

While on vacation, I purchased the most beautiful Belgian linen and I used it to create our linen napkins for Thanksgiving. To achieve a perfect square, I just measured 20" across and pulled a thread from salvage to salvage and then cut along the line. Then I did the same going in the opposite direction. After that, just pull threads to achieve the fringed end. Lastly, I sewed a straight stitch around the napkin to prevent further fraying when washed. They are sure to get lots of use throughout the year.
