Our English Garden roses began blooming about a week ago. This is my favorite time of the spring season, for once the hot & humid days of summer arrive, the blossoms are few and far between.
Expecting heavy rain today, I woke up early to cut some roses to enjoy indoors. I must admit, I treat my rose garden like a cutting garden - not many remain on the bushes for long. (My mom gifted the above antique oak serving tray to me for my 21st birthday. While watching Downton Abbey, I noticed the servants use trays just like mine. So now I think of it as my own little piece of Downton Abbey.)
With the roses from this morning, I was able to make three beautiful bouquets.
Bare root roses were purchased from David Austen Roses.
