I enjoy creating inspiring containers to store tools and supplies that I use quite frequently. The above containers, both in my studio, are always close at hand. The container on the left is a Fleur-di-Lis glass (found here for $3). I just added a vintage rhinestone brooch with a bit of ribbon. The container on the right stores all of my hand punches. I picked up an inexpensive galvanized bucket and covered it with a favorite wrapping paper of mine. A small bird tag, which I hung with one of my magnets, adds a whimsical touch.
I love mercury glass and was fortunate to find these in the clearance section at Pottery Barn after Christmas. I added a stamped tag and French postcard image to each lid and use them to store cotton balls and Q-tips.
Remember the child's tea set I found at the flea market? I keep one of the cups and saucers to store paperclips and my eraser. The container on the right is another larger galvanized bucket which I covered with flocked paper and then embellished with some rubber stamps, ribbon and a tag. I placed three plastic cups inside which holds various scissors, wire clips, rotary blades and my brayer. All of these not only keep my tools organized, but they inspire me as well.
