After a very busy season, our Etsy shops our now closed for the holiday so we can enjoy the Christmas season with family. I'm looking forward to sharing many new designs with you when we re-open in January. Thank you for a wonderful year and best wishes for a lovely Christmas filled with much joy.
Just a couple of quick shop updates. Our blush velvet ribbon is currently out of stock. More will be available within a couple of weeks.
Also, our popular personalized white quilted stockings are very limited now. If you were interested in purchasing these, I recommend not waiting. This design will not be returning to the shop once our final quantity is sold out. I purchased the material in Belgium and sadly, I'm unable to obtain any more.
We're hosting a casual dinner party and I wanted a rustic look for the table, working with what I had on hand. Rather than purchasing flowers, I filled two of my larger vases with fresh apples. The addition of handmade velvet pumpkins and some preserved boxwood, at each end of the table, completed the look.
On the menu - pulled BBQ pork sandwiches, cole slaw, potato salad, baked beans, and carrot cake for dessert. Everything will be made ahead of time, including E's famous orange and pomegranate margaritas. Have a beautiful fall weekend everyone!
Our front door and windows are in the midst of a renovation, but that didn't stop me from decorating our porch for the season. Of course, that means having to move everything while E is working but I'm happy to do so!
Pumpkins do not seem to be in abundant supply in our area this year, so I visited a few places to hunt down what I was looking for. To the helpful employee at Trader Joe's who helped me dig down to the bottom of the huge bin - thank you!!
A new addition to our porch this season are a set of beautiful lanterns by Luminara, The candles look like the real thing and they came with a remote control. So happy with this purchase! I'm already thinking of how I'll use them in my decorating throughout the coming holiday season.
I'll have to take some more pictures once the renovation is complete. The door is looking so beautiful and I love the new color, Hale Navy, by Benjamin Moore.
Autumn - my most favorite time of the year. I love this quote by Nathaniel Hawthorne, “I cannot endure to waste anything so precious as autumnal sunshine by staying in the house. So I have spent almost all the daylight hours in the open air.”
Fall is the season of earth and jewel tones that reflect the changing of the leaves. It's a perfect time to bring new color to your accessories to complement the season's palette. These pieces and more are now available in the Pemberley Collectionshop. For the remainder of the month, enter code AUTUMN15, to receive 15% off your total purchase of $25 or more. (exp. 9/30/15)
I'm always so touched when a relative gifts a treasured family heirloom to me. Recently, I received a set of these beautiful antique salt cellars. They have been in the Creasy family for over a hundred years.
I love the hand painted roses and tiny foot bases. I look forward to using these when entertaining, not only for salt, but perhaps for butter pats as well. I'm also keeping one on the sink in our master bath to hold my rings. So happy to have these handed down to me to enjoy and keep safe until I pass them on to my girls one day.
Recently came across a tip for prolonging the life of cut hydrangea blooms and my last two arrangements still looked beautiful after two weeks. Simply, smash the end of the stalk to allow the water to flow more freely. How simple with amazing results!
Planing on returning to more regular blog posts now that most of our traveling and projects for the summer are winding down. In the meantime, you can see what I've been up to over on my instagram. @juleseab.
Hot humid summer days are the perfect time to stay cool indoors and get a jump start on holiday crafts. When I came across a pattern for pine cone elves on Lia Griffith's website, I instantly fell in love. So fun to create, I keep making more to add to my charming elf family.
I added extra embroidery details to their tiny winter clothing and also used pinking shears and scalloped scissors. If you would like to know the DMC floss colors I chose, which match the felt, refer to the source list below. Felt colors, purchased from Etsy, can be found on Lia's site. I loved the colors she used, and purchased the same ones.
They're even cute from behind!
Perfect to gift a trio to a friend at Christmas, or for a unique hostess gift. You could also string a ribbon or cord through the top to turn them into ornaments. Hop over to Lia's wonderful site to get started on your own elf family.

Hi all! As I only sell online now, and am no longer participating in professional craft shows, I have decided to part with my booth set-up. I'm selling everything as a set which includes the tables (4), table cloths (4), drapery panels (9) and the wooden display risers (4). If you're in the Northern VA area and are interested, or need more details, just let me know. Working in this beautiful booth and meeting customers was always something I enjoyed, but I am incredibly blessed to continue to expand my online business right from my home studio. The sale price for the entire set is $300.
Our newest addition of velvet ribbon is now available in the shop - a lovely blush rose shade.
Also, I've received a number of emails inquiring as to where I purchased the silver tray you see in some of my product photography. I purchased it from an antique shop in Canada and love the detailed floral edging. However, there are many vintage sellers on Etsy offering similar trays, if you'd like to take a look there.
I also have a new grey pillow cover design in the shop, sewn from 100% cotton canvas. If you're looking for a custom quote, I'm happy to help. Designs are not limited to the text shown. Have a beautiful day!
Do you have a certain something that triggers summer has arrived? For me, it's the bite of my first peach. I saw these peaches at the market and thought to myself, it's too soon in the season, they won't be good. Not wanting to turn away, I picked one up to smell it and was pleasantly surprised that it actually smelled like a peach - heavenly! I couldn't wait to get home and eat one and it did not disappoint. There's nothing like a perfectly ripe, sweet peach. Summer has officially begun!
Certain foods always spark favorite memories, and bing cherries are at the top of the list. My Dad and I shared a love for these and especially for bing cherry ice cream. So today these sweet cherries will be added to some homemade bing cherry ice cream. My favorite recipe can be found here.
