Wonki Ware Coming to the US!

So excited to learn that Wonki Ware, unique South African hand crafted designer dinner ware, will soon be available in the states. Up until now, only a few select pieces have been featured at Anthropologie or BHLDN.

I own a gorgeous, over-sized glazed platter from their lace-imprinted collection in this lovely color called duck egg wash.  (You can catch a glimpse of it in the background of my paper flower tutorial here.)

Each piece is individually hand made, which gives it a unique character that I love.  For months now, I've wanted to purchase an everday set from one of their white glazed collections, and was disappointed to discover it wasn't available in the US yet.  However, it soon will be.

Swarovski Cushion Cut Earrings, New to the Pemberley Collection

I adore these petite cushion cut crystal earrings.  At only 12mm square (just under 1/2"), they are lightweight and extremely comfortable to wear, but offer maximum sparkle.  Brand new to the shop are six gorgeous colors, perfect for spring and summer!

Important Announcement To My Google Friend Connect Followers!

Many of you are probably aware that as of tomorrow Google is discontinuing "Google Friend Connect (GFC)" for non-Blogger blogs.  My blog is hosted by Typepad, so this affects me.  As a result, Google Friend Connect will no longer work here as of tomorrow and my posts may no longer show up in your Blogger Dashboard or Google Reader.

If you happen to be one of my readers who follows this blog through Google Friend Connect, there are other ways to continue to follow or subscribe to my blog:

RSS Feed:  You can click on the "Subscribe in a reader" link which is located at the very top of the right sidebar of my blog.  This will allow you to continue to receive each of my posts to your favorite RSS reader of choice.  Some favorites inclue Google Reader (if you have a Gmail account, your Google Reader is usually linked at the top of your Gmail inbox, or sometimes under the link “More”),  My Yahoo!, Newsgator, Bloglines, and Netvibes, just to name a few.

You can also choose to receive email notices when a new post is added to my blog.  This option can also be found on the top right sidebar of my blog.

I'm so thankful for the lovely people I have met through this blog and I hope you will take the time today to resubscribe to my blog throught the RSS Feed link in my sidebar.  I would hate to lose any of my dear followers as a result of Google's decision to discontinue GFC for Typepad and other users.

As a result of the change, if I follow your blog on GFC, you will also notice that I will no longer show up as a GFC follower on your blog.  Today, I will be transferring all of my subcriptions through GFC over to my Google Reader to ensure I don't miss a single one of your posts!

Swarovski Crystal Earrings, in New Colors

Added to the shop today are Swarovski crystal tear drop earrings in four of the most beautiful new colors.  It's difficult to pick a favorite as I love them all!  On the top left is padparadscha, which is the most unique shade of delicate pink and orange.  Top right is deep ruby red, perfect for Valentine's Day.  The lower left is my go to color, champagne - so elegant!  And lastly, a beautiful crystal copper color to compliment all of your earth tones.  Which color is your favorite?

Rhinestone Hair Combs with Fresh Water Pearls

New hair combs featuring faceted crystal stones and fresh water pearls were just added to the Pemberley Collection.  So pretty..... makes me want to get married all over again.

New Blog Design

Hi everyone!  So good to be back.  I haven't posted in a bit because I've been redesigning my blog - my first major accomplishment for the new year.  I changed from a three column format, to two columns and I love the new cleaner and less cluttered design.  As a result, I'll be able to post larger and more detailed pictures as needed, and be ready to add links to leap into social media.  More on that to come later!  I'm also still implementing a different color scheme and working on the design of new pages which are linked to my new header tabs.  Much of the information that was previously found in my side columns, can now be found in these tabs.

I have zero html experience and, I must confess, there were times of outright panic when my blog seemed to have totally disappeared during my attempt to redesign it. However, I never give up on something until I get it right and thankfully I had my trusty copy of "Typepad for Dummies" to guide me along the way.  It's amazing how much html code you can quickly learn just by trial and error.  After a few more touches and minor corrections, I'll be ready to move on to my next big tech project for the year.  I have a long list!  I'm excited to make 2011 the year I become well versed on all of the wonderful technical gadgets and applications I seem to own.  All of which will help me do more of what I love to do, create!  How about you?  Anyone working through any "how to" books right now?

Over the Moon Excited!

Christmas came early for us this year.  We just found out this evening that our daughter was accepted into The College of William and Mary! We are beyond excited and so proud of her!  

This will be her home away from home beginning next fall.  You may remember that I blogged about our college tour last spring.  You can find more pictures and information on my previous post here.  I don't think any of us will sleep tonight!

I'm delighted to share the news with you that one of my pieces, from the Pemberley Collection, is currently featured in the December 2010 holiday issue of Real Simple magazine.

Having just launched the Pemberley Collection in February, it's exciting to end the year with this feature. I'm busy working on expanding the entire collection, so watch for many new designs to be added over the next several months.

Personalized Burlap Stockings

I received many requests asking if I would offer personalized burlap stockings and I'm happy to announce these are now available in my shop.  Each name is hand-stamped onto wool flannel, trimmed with scalloped edges, and appliqued onto the stocking.

 

Fall Wedding in Paris

It's always a pleasure to discover when one of my designs is part of an Etsy treasury, and even more exciting when that particular treasury is featured on Etsy's front page. One of today's front page treasuries, "A Fall Wedding in Paris", included my French inspired photo holder. Although my husband and I were not married in Paris, we were fortunate to spend some time there on our honeymoon, so I am particularly fond of being part of this lovely collection.

 

Earlier this week, I completed an order for custom wedding favors, based on my French photo cube. The bride wished to incorporate their names and butterfly theme for their fall wedding.  Here is a peek at their custom favors which will be shipping off to Europe with every good wish for their special day.
