When the announcement came that Google Reader was going to expire on July 1, (after moaning and getting over my initial shock) I quickly set out to find a replacement. I'm happy to report, I found one I actually prefer to Google Reader. I've been using Reeder for quite some time now and love it. If you're a Mac user like me, I highly recommend it. (Sorry, but it's not available in Windows). Reeder is customizable; allowing you to choose fonts and color variations. Tapping on an article opens the actual web-page within the app - a favorite feature. You can access Pinterest or leave a blog comment without leaving the app. The content is displayed in a simple, easy to read format with numerous sharing options. I especially appreciate its organizing options for setting up folders and the ability to quickly switch from read, unread and starred items. And, Reeder is available for both the iPhone and iPad as well. Perfect!
